Don't miss the Alexandria Festival of Lights happening this Saturday and Sunday.
Alexandria is full of festive trees with colourful lights and activities for the family. The Port Theatre will be paying tribute to the Everly Brothers. And St. John's Presbyterian Church will be spreading Christmas cheer with a popular concert event.
It's Family Day at the Alexandria Festival of Lights! There will be prizes, a trivia hunt, snowman contest and a barbecue from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 15, Take a ride on the Green Valley Short Line Railroad and experience the fun of riding on a scale version of the real thing. On both days from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Alexandria is a city with colour waiting to put you in the Christmas spirit.
The Port Theatre will be rockin' it old school with a tribute to the Everly Brothers on Saturday, Dec. 14. Doors open 7 p.m. and the show kicks off at 8 p.m. The concert is an LCBO licensed event. Tickets are $25 and available at Melody Music, Cornwall Square Lottery Kiosk and the Port Theatre box office (132 Montreal Road) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be a holy afternoon at St. John's Presbyterian Church (28 Second Street East) on Sunday, Dec. 13. A 50-voice choir will be singing about peace, hope and joy at the annual Christmas concert taking place at noon. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under 13 and are available at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, the Lottery Kiosk at the Cornwall Square and at Home Hardware.
