CORNWALL, Ontario - The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort (AMCR) is kicking off its first North Country Concert Series with a cornerstone of modern country music on June 5.

American country music artist Darryl Worley.

Darryl Worley will be taking the stage in the casino's winter ballroom for two sets at 7 and 9 p.m.

Throughout his career, he has produced nearly 20 hit singles, including three #1s, as well as chart-topping albums, and sales in the millions.

"I've always set out to make sure every song on every album is a good one," Worley said in a media statement. "I want every cut to be a potential single."

His unquestioned musical integrity earned him a reputation as a traditional country artist who doesn't follow trends or fads.

Worley has topped the charts with singles including "I Miss My Friend," "Awful, Beautiful Life" and "Have You Forgotten," which accomplished the feat for one, two and an incredible seven weeks, respectively.

Along the way, he earned nominations for five major ACM and CMA awards, including "Song of the Year" and "Single of the Year," and wrote songs for other artists including George Jones.

“My job as a songwriter,” he said, “is to listen to people and come up with something they'll relate to.”

The North Country Concert Series lineup includes Worley (June 5), Aaron Tippin (June 19), Sammy Kershaw (July 24), Collin Raye (August 7), Phil Vassar (August 28), and Pam Tillis (September 18).

Ticket prices range from $30 to $45 and are available online, in person at AMCR or by calling 877-99CASINO.
