CORNWALL, Ontario - For the fourth year, a South Korean painter who made a home in Cornwall is sharing the artwork of her young students at an exhibition tent on her front yard next Sunday.

A taste of what you might see at the Kids' Art Exhibition in Cornwall on June 22.

Hye Kung, a six-year city resident and a familiar face at Our Beautiful Obsession (OBO) Studios in Cornwall, is an artist who paints with watercolours and acrylic and is currently fascinated with exploring country landscapes, birds, and wildlife.

The private children's art class she runs out of her home studio is hosting its fourth annual Kids' Art Exhibition at 1413 Holy Cross Boulevard on Sunday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.

From September to June, her group of over a dozen aspiring artists ages nine to 15 have been learning techniques like shading and mixing, to help create their own masterpieces for the event.

"The students work so hard all year," said Kung, who graduated with honours from a four-year fine arts program at Wonkwang University. "This is their day to show off their creativity."

Her artwork has been seen in juried art exhibitions and festivals locally as well as Ottawa and Kingston.

To help promote the arts, the event is free and open to the public.
