The Cornwall and District Immigrant Service Agency (CDISA) will be presenting an Exhibition of the “World of Art by Cool Youth” at the Cornwall Public Library during the March Break Week, from March 13 to 22, 2010 during library hours: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
These young artists are part of the “Cool Art by Cool Youth” group who create art once a week (some have been coming for almost a year) at one of four locations in the city, situated within easy reach of their homes.
Wild landscapes, thoughtful portraits, crazy sculptures, and cool abstracts are only some of the art these talented youth have created. The art on show has been largely chosen by the artists themselves along with a few additional works selected by the art coordinator, Penny Bateman.
Hard work, creative energy, thought, perseverance and talent have all gone into the creation of these works. Everyone is encouraged to come and see what some of the extraordinary youth in our community can do. Admission is free.
The funding for this free program is generously provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Workshop space is provided by the Cornwall Public Library, the Cornwall and Area Housing Corporation and the City of Cornwall.
