Sells NYC condo to raise money to pay
In \"debt\" with Pamela Wallin!
Senator Pamela Wallin has given back the Senate $39,000 of the $ 139,000 she charged up in travel and lodgings to which she was not entitled.
That still leaves the former CTV star newscaster with another $100,000 to pay back the Senate.
To avoid criminal prosecution, she sold her condominium in the heart of New York last week for the ridiculously low sum of $ 349,000. It’s more than enough to pay back what she still owes the Senate.
What is difficult to understand is that in New York City, condos sell for upwards of $ 1 000 000 apiece and some sell for ten times that amount.
Wallin said she paid only $ 379,000 five years ago for her condo. So she loses only $ 30,000 by selling it at $349,000.
She has until September 16 to pay back money owing the Senate or they can garnishee $27,000 of her Senate salary of $ 135,200 a year.
There are senators who are now saying they would have given considerably more for her condo.
Too late for that now.
