Cornwall’s Your Credit Union will be renovating the local branch, and intends to invest more than $1 million in the local economy by establishing an open bidding process for all of the required trades.
The building renovation will be managed and overseen by First Financial Building Corporation of Canada.
The credit union is in the process of tendering out different components of the construction.
“By upgrading the branch, Your Credit Union hopes to boost the trade workforce in the community and potentially stimulate the local economic growth,” the institution said in a statement.
Construction work and a ribbon-cutting ceremony are expected to take place later this year.
