Need to zap some inches from around your waistline? The Laser Health Clinic can help you – quite literally.

The clinic, the first and only one in Cornwall and SD and G to be licensed to operate Zerona equipment, uses “cold” laser technology to melt the fat cells off your body.

The lasers essentially cut a hole in fat cells, liquefying them. The liquefied cells are then used naturally by your body, or passed naturally.

It’s as simple as lying down on a table for 40 minutes (20 minutes each, front and back) while the laser does the work.

Laser Health Clinic owner/operators Joanna Ross and Julie Mason said the technology makes weight-loss easier.

“This method can work very quickly,” said Ross.

In fact, the clinic guarantees 3.64 inches will be removed from your waistline in two weeks of treatments.

Treatments packages are typically sold in multi-week formats at the clinic which is located in the Summit Health & Fitness Club in Cornwall.

Mason said this kind of weight-loss treatment is about as non-invasive as one will find.

“This has no capacity to burn you. It doesn’t produce heat,” she said of the laser. “You don’t feel anything. There’s no scarring or anything like that.”

Patrons are assessed prior to going under the laser, where Mason or Ross will determine what your weight-loss goals are and your overall health.

Both have a combined 27 years in the nursing field.

“It can be compared to liposuction,” said Mason. “It’s the same effect…but you’re not having an invasive procedure.”
