Carrie Wattie Roy

The urge to become an entrepreneur has always been a part of Carrie Wattie Roy’s character.  That urge re-surfaced recently when she learned that a local carpet binding business might be for sale.  Learning a new skill was also an intriguing idea, so she ventured forward.

Ms. Roy recently completed the skills training and has purchased the business. The next thing to consider was the business name. Mrs. Roy knew that customer service was going to be of utmost importance to her and she wanted the business name to reflect that.

“I have a background in serving the public,” said Mrs. Roy.  “I know that having happy customers along with an excellent product, is the best marketing tactic a business can have. With that in mind, and considering my last name, I decided to use the name Royal Custom Carpets.”

Royal Custom Carpets offers carpet edge binding in 100% polyester, available in 225 colours.  Square or round edges are available on any type of carpet for both residential and commercial applications. Edging can be applied to all sizes of area rugs, matching door mats, stair runners, wall to wall carpets as well as carpet base along the wall.

It is even possible to replace the current edging you may have on an area rug, whether due to damage or you simply want to update the colour.  A new piece of equipment has recently been purchased providing Royal Carpets with the capacity to personalize carpets – a great addition to their services.

“Mrs. Roy is very enthusiastic about her new business”, said Candy Pollard of the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre.  “She sees potential in this business – and in our community.  We wish her much success”.
