We now have our practice meetings every Tuesday at Maple Lane Stables in Northfield Station. On July 7th and 14th, we practiced with our project horses to get ready for Achievement Day in September. Achievement Day is when we present our horses, while doing a pattern, to a judge. On the 14th, before we went outside to practice, we went over our judging book as on Wednesday, July 15th the 4-H Judging Day was held at the Williamstown fairgrounds. It was a warm, sunny day for Judging Day to be held on. Judging Day is where we judge certain things and present our reasons to a judge. We had to judge horses, dairy cows, meat goats, hay, oats, cookies, hiking boots and we had a quiz. Everyone did great and three people from the Stormont 4-H Horse Club can go to the Regional’s on August 3rd in Avonmore. The three members are my sister Samantha Rupert, Devon Webb and myself, Katrina Rupert. In my next article, I will mention who had what horse as their project horse.
