Ontario will repair two underpass roads in South Glengarry to improve driver safety and create 10 jobs.

Work has already begun on the Fraser Road underpass west of Interchange 814 and the 5th Line Road underpass about 0.3 kilometres west of the Ontario/Quebec border on Highway 401.

Improvements made to these underpasses will further enhance safety.

Drivers may experience minor delays due to temporary signals and lane reductions until construction is complete in October 2009. “We want to ensure the drivers of this area have the safest, most efficient roadways possible. Projects such as these develop the quality of our communities by improving our infrastructure and providing jobs to our citizens,” said Jim Brownell, Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry MPP. “From building safer roads for motorists and our communities to generating jobs, every construction project contributes to strengthening Ontario’s economy and future,” added Jim Bradley, minister of Transportation.
