Think back to your shop course Woodworking 101 first project. Odds are it was a rather primitive book end or a birdhouse. Hubert Quesnel has no need to take such a course, for he has turned out hundreds of well-designed, well-made, well-finished birdhouses, bird feeders and planter boxes.

For years Hubert showed an equal aptitude for repairing lawn and garden machines such as mowers, tillers and snowblowers on Johnson Road, north of Williamstown. When he moved to a house on South Branch Road, west of Williamstown, he retired from that occupation. As a hobby and make-ends-meet activity, he then went into woodworking projects, big time.

If your garden or birds need one of his products, they can be seen thanks to the display trailer he has parked in front of his civic number 19501 home. His products come in a wide variety of designs and colours. If your bird can’t find one that suits her fancy, Hubert could custom build one upon request. If you don’t have any birds or a garden, one would make an interesting decoration for your backyard, but don’t be surprised if some bird will soon find a better use for it.
