It’s a long way from Calgary, Alberta where E J was born, but he says the trip was worth it. “I spent three long years in that big cattle town, but when you’re that age change time means little,” he said, laughing. “I’ve had steady work down here and for the last ten years I have built pallets for Source-Wood Products which is situated in the old cotton mill.”

E J played basketball during his tenure at CCVS, but admitted he wasn’t attentive enough to make the travelling team. “It’s a great game, but I had too many other distractions to really buckle down,” he explained.

Granger said that although he was not excessively environmentally conscious, his contribution to its improvement rested in the fact that he does not drive nor own a car. “My old eighteen-speed bike gets me to where I want to go around Cornwall,” he offered. “I don’t even need an ‘E’ test. “My longest road trip was to Alexandria, but that was a little too far. Never again!”

E J is single and believes in living one day at a time.
