CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Community Police Service will be enforcing some changes to traffic flow on Saturday, Nov. 19 to ensure a safe and smooth day for the Santa Claus Parade.

The parade will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday at St. Lawrence Secondary School on Second Street. Traffic will not be allowed on Second Street from Anthony Street in the East to York Street in the West until the end of the parade.

There will also be “No Parking” signs in place along Second Street from Anthony to Augustus Street.

Police officers will be on the scene along the parade route to ensure that everyone has a safe day and CCPS also raised the possibility of implementing detours to promote the steady flow of traffic.

Earlier in the day, starting at 6 a.m. one bloc of Montreal Road will be closed from McConnell Avenue to Malborough Street for the Santa Claus Street Hockey Tournament. That stretch of Montreal Road will remain closed until the end of the tournament, approximately at 4 p.m.

Again, keep an eye-out for detours.
