Passed away at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 1, 2008 formerly of Alexandria at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Poirier (née Cuthbert). Loving father of Mary Smith (Ron) of Kingston, Paul Poirier (Bonnie) of Kanata, Leo Poirier, Raymond (Karen) and Jerome Poirier all of Alexandria and special niece Dianne Pelletier (Roy) of Mississauga. Dear brother of Dina Loiselle of Alexandria, Thérèse Carriere (Bruno) of Lancaster, Cecile Vachon and Bernadette Dubien both of Montreal and Sister Anna Poirier of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. Predeceased by three brothers Raoul, Remi and Antoine Poirier and by four sisters Ida Poirier, Alma Periard, Imelda Levac and Bertha Lalonde. Dear son of the late Jeremie Poirier and the late Rosanna Leblanc. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Steve, Lisa, Jason, Lesley, Melanie, Shannon and Kristen and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Rested at Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd. Funeral took place on Friday, September 5 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Finnan’s Catholic Church, Alexandria. Interment in Parish Cemetery.

LAROSE - Jacqueline “Jackie” (Rooney)

Passed at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Survived by her loving husband of 47 years Gerard “Mac” Larose. Dear mother of Colleen MacDonald, Carol Tait (Ted) both of Calgary and Joan Kelly of Cornwall and step-mother of Michael Larose (Ginny) of Petawawa and Lynn Larose of Cornwall. Dear sister of Fabiola, Corrine, Marcella and Ernestine (Omer). Also survived by 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Ted Jr., Janie, Lance, Megan, Jason, Sarah and Matthew. Predeceased by her previous husband Roddy MacDonald, her parents, Rupert and Evelyn (Kennedy) Rooney and one brother Armand. “KANERAHTI:IO”

JOCKO - Henry

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Sunday, August 31, 2008 formerly of Akwesasne at the age of 66 years. Dear son of the late Francis and Sadie Jocko. Survived by his children Melissa, Clarissa, Joel, Wesley and Jason, sisters Mrs. Pauline Cook (Vernon), Mrs. Geraldine Jacco-Jacobs (Dewey) and brother Mr. Donald Jocko all of Akwesasne. Predeceased by his brother Mr. Albert Jocko, son Mr. Christopher Cook, his longtime companion and mother to Joel and Ms. Leona Ireland. Dearly missed by grandchildren Julianne, Alanna, Cameron, Santana, Tyrone, Larissa, Mya, Davis, Frankie, Ogadesk, Avah, Drayson, Jack and Ivan. Will be missed deeply and thought of affectionately by many people. Funeral Friday, September 5 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Regis Parish Church, St. Regis. Interment in Parish cemetery. Passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the age of 73 years. Retired Courtaulds employee. Loving father of Chris, Steve and Mike Anderson all of Cornwall; Shawn Anderson of San Francisco, California and Gary Anderson of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Beloved son of the late Johnson and Florence (Franklin) Anderson. Dear brother of Murray Anderson and Lois Stretch, both of Burlington and the late Audrey Bisson. Funeral took place in the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, September 1. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

BERCIER - Antoinette (née Lefebvre)

Passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Parisien Manor at the age of 99 years, formerly of Cornwall. Beloved wife of the late Hector Bercier. Dear mother of Richard Bercier (Beatrice) of North Bay and Monique Lefebvre (late Guy) of Ville Ste. Catherine, Quebec. Also survived by seven grandchildren: Rachelle, Michel, Diane, Serge, Andre, Francine and Chantal, and five great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of the late Etienne Lefebvre and the late Emma Rose. Predeceased by five brothers, Henri, Omer, Leo, Albert and Oscar Lefebvre and three sisters Mrs. Aldea Laviolette, Mrs. Rosa (Ladouceur) Chartrand and Mrs. Lea Bourdon. Rested at the Boulerice Funeral Home Ltd. Funeral took place on Saturday, Aug. 30 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Felix-de-Valois Church. Interment in Notre-Dame Cemetery.
