Cornwall family distraught over lost dog

This is Chewy, a dog that got away from its owner on the weekend.

A Cornwall family is fearful it may never see their beloved pooch again.

Nicole Guarieri said the dog, a black lab mix named Chewy, went missing Saturday when it got away from her husband in the east end of the city.

She tells Seaway News her husband saw a dark coloured car pull over near La Maison on Montreal Road, open its door and take the dog in, before he could get to them to explain the dog was his.

The family has been to Cornwall police, but have had no success in finding out who has the dog now.
