What would summer be without some great-tasting barbecue?
The Cornwall Seaway Lions Club is hoping to turn a love of grilled food into an annual event with the introduction of Cornwall Ribfest 2012.
The three-day lip-smacking, slack-jawed, smokey-tasting, meat-eating free-for-all runs from July 27 to 29 in Lamoureux Park.
Based on the success of rib festivals in cities across North America, Ribfest will host several award-winning barbecue experts from both Canada and the United States, selling their tasty creations. The entertainment line-up will include ABBA-mania, Bayou Boys (a CCR tribute band), Queen Flash (a Queen tribute band), Marshall Dane and the Law, as well as Ambush, to name a few.
“What could be better than enjoying some of the best ribs in the world, a cold beverage, great entertainment, and helping our community at the same time,” said Terry Muir, member of the Cornwall Seaway Lions Club and chief organizer of Cornwall Ribfest 2012.
A midway will also be part of the event.
Admission to Ribfest is free but donations to the Cornwall Seaway Lions Club will be gratefully accepted.
