Have a happier and healthier Halloween this year with new skate or swim gift certificates from the City of Cornwall.
The city will be selling Halloween Gift Certificates in 10-certificate booklets for $10. Each certificate can be used for swimming at the Cornwall Aquatic Centre or for public skating at the Benson Centre. The certificates are valid only for child/student admission.
"Residents can give these out at the door on Halloween as a fun alternative to candy," said Christine Lefebvre, acting general manager of Planning, Parks & Recreation. "We are committed to encouraging healthy, active living, and this is a great way to promote our leisure programs and facilities."
The price of the gift certificates offer a significant savings (50 per cent or more) over the typical cost of a leisure swim or public skate. Perhaps more importantly, it's a fun way to reward the ghouls and goblins who will be out in force this Hallows' Eve.
"The is is first time we offer these gift certificates," said Lori Gibeau, aquatic co-ordinator. "We hope it proves popular and encourages even more families to make use of our great recreation facilities."
The gift certificates can be purchased at the aquatic centre and civic complex (100 Water Street East) and Benson Centre (800 Seventh Street West) while supplies last.
Leisure swims and public skates are offered at the aquatic centre and Benson Centre at various times throughout the week. A full schedule can be found on the recreation section of the city website, www.Cornwall.ca.
