CORNWALL, Ontario - It was an offer their appetites couldn't refuse. Hundreds of people packed the Royal Canadian Legion for a popular event in support of the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

'Italian Night' - a vital MS fundraising event with a mafioso twist - raised over $6,000 on Friday, Jan. 17.
A buffet spread with the big taste of Little Italy and live entertainment courtesy of the Kealey-Greer All Stars kept a crowd of 250 coming back for more.
For Brian and Barb Landry, the fundraiser delivers a special kind of comfort food since two of their family members are affected by the disease. They have only missed Italian Night once in over a decade.
"I have two nieces with multiple sclerosis. This is a great charity to support because they work tirelessly, and the money really helps patients locally," said Barb Landry.
The MS Society Cornwall and District chapter helps people affected by multiple sclerosis with funding for equipment and special assistance programs, access to supportive counselling and self-help groups, as well as providing credible information on the disease and referral services.
Sponsors from Perkins Rona Home Centre and TC Media/Cornwall Seaway News were glad to serve guests as donations continued to pour in throughout the evening.
"We organize this event once a year in January to get rid of those winter blues and we get great support," said Karren-Torrie Racine, MS Society of Cornwall's volunteer office manager.
The next chance to help raise cash for MS involves spandex, a helmet, and depending on your skill level, training wheels. In mid-August, the annual MS Ottawa to Cornwall Bike Tour spins into action.
