Delaney Bus Lines Ltd. announced recently of a major expansion of their Cornwall to Ottawa Commuter Bus Service that will see increased capacity, comfort, and convenience, and a very significant reduction to the current monthly fare.

When Delaney obtained its operating licence from the Ontario Highway Transport Board, which regulates the bus industry in Ontario, there were restrictions attached which effectively limited the service to one 26-passenger mini-coach.

With that bus now near capacity, Delaney has applied to have those restrictions lifted, in order to be able to use 56-passenger highway coaches. The main benefit to the commuting public, if the licence amendment is granted, will be to lower the price from $400 to $300 per month. With this significant price reduction, Delaney hopes to attract more individual drivers and car-pool members.

If the application is successful, the changes could be in effect May or June.

Delaney is inviting the Ottawa-bound commuting public to take a brief survey at www.delaney.ca, to help them determine if any other changes are in order that would help to make the service more appealing to the maximum number of riders.
