Cornwall Community Police Service

The Cornwall Community Police Service reminds its residents to be aware that school have started. Please be mindful when you see children crossing the street and school bus drivers’ stopping to pick up children. Just a reminder to slow down, allot yourself more time to travel to your destination to ensure your own safety as well as the safety of the children in our community.

A first offence for failing to stop for a school bus will result in a fine of not less than $400 and no more than $2,000. Every subsequent offence will result in a fine of no less than $1,000 and no more than $4,000 or to a term of imprisonment of not more than six months or to both.

A further reminder that fines are doubled in Community Safety Zones. The Cornwall Community Police Service reminds the public that by conducting enforcement in these areas we are hoping that the public will comply with speed limits and rules of the road.
