Peacefully at home with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in her 71st year. Lifetime member of the U.C.W. at Newington United Church. Mabel Beckstead née Hartle of Newington. Beloved wife of Fay Beckstead for 49 years. Cherished mom to Jane Michels (Bill) and Peter Beckstead (Heather). Devoted and loving grandma to Alison and Blake Michels and Emerson and Gracie Beckstead. Predeceased by her parents Basil and Isobel (Boals) Hartle. Dear sister of Patricia Anderson (Reg), Joe Hartle (Elaine), Glen Hartle (late Irma), Ed Hartle (Maureen) and Barbara Vermilyea (Bill). She will be sadly missed by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Proud aunt to many nieces and nephews and their extended families. Visitation will be held at the Brownlee Funeral Home MacDougall Chapel & Reception Centre 14815 County Road 2 Ingleside on Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. (A Service in Celebration of Mabel Beckstead’s Life will be held in Trinity United Church Ingleside on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11am). Reverend Daniel Hayward officiating. Charles, Nellie May “Pixie”
Passed away peacefully at home on March 15th, 2010, Nellie May “Pixie” Charles (née Marks) of Ingleside, at the age of 88. Dear wife of the late Albert Charles. Beloved mother of Vivienne (Wayne) Froats and Maureen (Gary) Cracknell, both of Ingleside. Cherished grandmother to Mean, Andrew and Stephen Lacey, and to Jim (Kelly) MacKenzie, David MacKenzie, Kelly (Joey) McDonald, and Kerry (Terry) Van Allen. Special great-grandmother to Jordan, Kyle, Klyne, Abby, Kaleb and Kade. Survived by sister Christine Hancock. Predeceased by parents Robert and Rosa Marks, brother Bob and son-in-law Douglas Lacey. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. Cremation. Visitation will be held a the Brownlee Funeral Home, MacDougall Chapel & Reception Centre, 14815 County Road 2, Ingleside on Monday from 10am until 10:45am. [A service in celebration of Nellie Charles; life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00am]. Rite of Committal at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery. Beloved wife of the late Charles McElheran. Loving mother of June Raymond (Bernard) of Apple Hill, and Myles McElheran (Alice) of Mississauga. Proud grandmother of Debbie Tourigny (Dan), Dale Raymond, Lee Raymond (Laurie), and Shawn McElheran (Anita); great grandmother of Travis, Crystal, Gareth, Maguire, and Teena; and great great grandmother of Makayla and Alyssa. Predeceased by her parents James and Alberta (nee Montgomery) Britton; her brothers Noble, Ivan, Clifton, and Vernon; and her sister Vivian.
