THOMPSON, Garfield (Garry)

Passed away after a long and courageous battle, at Carefor Hospice Cornwall, on Monday February 22nd, 2010. Cherished husband and best friend of Joyce (Fenner). Loving father to Carol Froats (Bradley) and Mary Errington (Keith). Very proud Grampa of Brian and Elizabeth Errington. Survived by three siblings Audrey Dlugolecki (Leo), Mildred Morrison (Earl) and Stuart Thompson (late June). Resting at McArthur Bros. & MacNeil Funeral Home, 428 Second Street East, Cornwall 613-932-6300. Family will be in attendance 2 - 4pm & 7 - 9pm Wednesday February 24th, Funeral Service 12:30pm Thursday February 25th, in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Rev. Jessica Worden officiating. Mrs. Thompson and family would like to say a special Thank you to Dr. Randlett and the staff at Carefor Hospice Cornwall for the wonderful care given to Garry during his stay. At the Janet MacDonell Pavilion Monday, February 22, 2010. Aurèle Joseph Lanteigne of 422 Second Street East; formerly of Adolphus Street; age 85 years. Beloved husband of Mary (Lalonde) Lanteigne. Dear step-father of Wayne Dyer (Valerie) of Mississauga and Judy Seguin (Hubert) of Cornwall. Loving step-grandfather of five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Henri Lanteigne and the late Lea (Cheson) Lanteigne. Dear brother of Leona Theoret of Montreal. Predeceased by one brother, Paul Lanteigne and two sisters, Stella Boulerice and Theresa Brunet. Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) Wednesday from 2 p.m. Funeral Thursday, February 25, 2010 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columban’s Church at 10 a.m. followed by cremation. The family will be in attendance Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until time of Funeral. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

LUSCOMBE, Millicent Agnes (Boo)

Entered her new journey at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall on Saturday February 20, 2010 at the age of 93 years, after a long, happy and fulfilled lifetime. Formerly of Summerstown and Toronto, she was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Dr. Roy and Isabel (Ross) MacGregor. Predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Luscombe, and by a previous marriage Rusty Burton; her only daughter Tamia Doll-Burton (late Alan W.F. Doll); and her sister Marjorie Venus (Bob), who was formerly Marjorie Landshoot (Jack) of Port Huron, Michigan. Survived by her 5 grandchildren Gregor Doll (Luanne), Cornwall; Grant Doll, Toronto; Faye Brunet (Rene), Helen Greer (Shane), Brett Doll (Philomena), all of Cornwall. She also leaves 9 great-grandchildren Kendrick and MacKenzie Doll, Teal, Devin, and Zoee Brunet, Brittany and Amber Doll, and Melissa and Kevin Greer. Boo was a Honourary Life Member of the Canadian Music Association and CWL member of Toronto. She graduated from the University of Toronto in music and became a music teacher. She was formerly a long standing member of Glenview Presbyterian Church in Toronto, and more recently of St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Cornwall. Boo was blessed with a loving family and many fine and wonderful friends whom she and Bill had come to love and know in Toronto, and later in Cornwall. She had many passions: a lover of music, boats, bridge at which she became a Master Player, lawn bowling, and of higher education. She joins her dearly beloved ones and her KLEM Group, and takes with her many fond, joyous and memorable years. The family extends a special thank you to the palliative care nurses (Quinn House) and staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre for their care and patience. Cremation has taken place. A service in memory of Millicent will be celebrated in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Cornwall on Thursday February 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Committal to take place at a later date. If so desired contributions in her memory made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

HYNES, ISABELLA (NÉE GEORGESON)

Mrs. Isabella Hynes at Versa Care Centre, Cornwall on Monday February 22, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Cyril Hynes. Loving mother of Carole McDonald (Ross), Hazel Simpson (late Neil) both of Cornwall; and Shirley Cawthorn (Jan) of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Sadly missed by six grandchildren Stewart, Andrew, Ian, Jason, Kayleen, and Michael; and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Alexina (McLeod) Georgeson; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Cornwall at a later date. If so desired contributions in her memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

ALLEN, ROBERT HENRY

Mr. Robert Allen at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall on Tuesday February 23, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of Ethel (Adams) Allen. Loved son of the late Reverend Harry Allen and Mary (Biber) Allen. Predeceased by his brother Bud Allen. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. If so desired contributions in his memory to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall.
