The U11 girls’ Blazers, sponsored by Dave Beitz construction, are showing signs that they will be a force to contend with this season. The Blazers won their second game of the season posting a 4-1 win against Ottawa South United. Scoring for the Blazers was call-up player Emily Plourde recording two goals, Lyanne Dickie and Émélie Lauzon. Midfield pressure by Andrea Cotnam, Abbie Cameron, and Savanna Legue helped generate the goals by keeping the ball in the offensive zone for most of the game. Strong goaltending by Taylor Beitz and defensive play by Anik Bélanger, Becca Poirier-Froats, and call-up Kalista Coleman almost clinched the team their second straight shutout.
