The holiday season is upon us, and the Ontario Provincial Police and Cornwall Community Police Service are joining forces to ensure safe travels on area roads this Holiday Season. During the next few weeks both agencies will continue to conduct Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check points and will team up across Stormont and Glengarry Counties and the City of Cornwall to promote safe and sober driving.
Impaired driving remains the leading criminal cause of death in Canada. SD&G OPP officers & Cornwall Police officers will be out in your neighbourhood in an effort to remove the threat of the impaired driver, and reduce the death toll on our roads.
With several available alternatives to drinking and driving, there is NO acceptable reason for getting behind the wheel after consuming. Assign a designated sober driver, call a cab, call a friend or stay the night.
SD&G OPP officers and Cornwall Police Officers will be doing their part to remove impaired drivers from our roadways. Please do yours by not drinking and driving.
BE RESPONSIBLE AND DRIVE SOBER!!
