Hundreds of St. Lawrence College (SLC) graduates passed through the doors of the Cornwall campus on November 18 during the first ever Alumni Day.
Throughout the day, “alums” had the chance to win prizes, catch-up with old friends and classmates and take a self-guided tour of the renovated campus. College gear such as t-shirts, mugs and pens were available for those who participated in the scavenger hunt.
Jerry Dumont, a graduate of the Business and Accounting program in 1995, enjoyed his day at the college along with his wife Diane. He expressed how much the college has changed since he graduated.
Dumont returned to SLC recently to take self-employment courses and now owns Oasis Mini-Golf in the Limoges area, which is very close to Calypso Water Park.
Janine Foster, manager of alumni relations, said the first Alumni Day was geared to tracking down as many grads as possible as the college’s 50th anniversary is coming up in five years. She says the college has created a website where graduates can log in and update their information. For more information visit www.stlawrencecollege.ca/alumni.
