Patients requiring physical rehabilitation at Cornwall Community Hospital can look forward to the latest computer technology to keep fit. Corey Kalsi, CCH Foundation board member, recently donated a Nintendo Wii console, including Wii Fit package, accessories, and game software.
The popular console and software package allows the user to perform certain physical operations which are then translated onto a TV screen in the form of popular sports activities. Users can enjoy working their way to physical “Wii-habilitation” through simulated golf, tennis, bowling and more, while overcoming the tedium often associated with repetitive exercise.
Corey added “Cooking Mama” software to the mix allowing patients working toward physical autonomy to slice, dice, stir and otherwise simulate cooking activities, something vital to the rehabilitation of patients recovering from heart and stroke illnesses.
