Over the past few days, Knox-St. Paul’s Church Council and trustees have been forced to deal with major changes to its church insurance coverage.

Since the Sanctuary, Narthex and St. Paul’s Hall was declared “unsafe for occupancy” by the Thompson Rosemount Group in May 2008. Knox-St. Paul’s Church Council has taken the necessary steps to secure these unsafe portions of the building.

In February, they were advised by the insurance company that the insurance company has taken the position that these portions—Sanctuary, Narthex and St. Paul’s Hall—pose a threat to the remainder of the building and therefore the insurance company wants them to vacate all of the building, which includes the offices and Lewis Hall, which are presently occupied.

Knox-St. Paul’s have advised the insurance company of their plans to “vacate the building” in order to comply with their request. The Church Council and trustees are actively working on plans to present to the company.

Further information will be made available when it becomes known.
