St John Ambulance, Cornwall Branch has received calls regarding door-to-door solicitations for first aid and CPR courses. The solicitors claim to be associated with St. John Ambulance. St John Ambulance does not and has never embarked on door-to-door campaign to recruit new students.
“No instructor from the Cornwall Branch is involved,” says Alison Graveley, branch manager. “St John Ambulance simply does not engage in this method of recruitment. It is simply not the way we do business. Anyone who is approached should understand what they are agreeing to and if there are any concerns they are asked to call the Cornwall Police or the OPP,” says Graveley.
St. John Ambulance does have a schedule of first aid, CPR, babysitting courses and WHMIS open to the public. You can visit our website at www.sjacornwall.ca or call at 613-936-1525 for complete details or to register. St John Ambulance is a not-for-profit organization whose volunteers give more than 10,000 hours per year to this community. All expenses incurred in delivering our programs are funded by the revenue from our training courses and donations from public duty and civic-minded businesses.
