The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce will mark 25 years of business excellence awards next year at a gala ceremony.

As part of anniversary celebrations, chamber officials are looking to memorialize past business excellence awards winners with a video montage and other tributes.

The problem is, a recent flood at the chamber office has damaged or destroyed a great deal of the photographs that had been kept on file from past events.

Chamber executive director Lezlie Strasser said the hope is that members of the community who have photos going back 25 years would be able to submit them for use by the chamber.

“They can send them either by e-mail or drop them off and I can scan them and give them right back,” she said. “We’re trying to put 25 years of memories of these various awards together.”

The business excellence awards were created in 1988 to mark the achievements of local business people and companies.

Those who have photos from past events, or of award winners, can submit them via e-mail to Strasser at strasser@cornwallchamber.com, or give her a call at 613-933-4004, ext. 221, to set up a time to provide a submission.
