A local charity that supports work for area children has netted a sizeable amount of cash.
Dr. Rachel Navaneelan and the board of directors of Rachel’s Kids announced the success of the 8th Annual Garden Party and Charity Auction.
Proceeds from the raffle, silent and live auctions as well as sponsor and cash donations generated just over $110,000.
Guests enjoyed great regional and international cuisines, refreshments and wonderful desserts under a sunny sky, while bidding on amazing silent and live auction items.
“We are so pleased with this year’s event.” said Navaneelan. “Every year we manage to outdo previous year’s efforts through the generosity of the people here in Cornwall and our supporters in Ottawa.”
The funds will be used locally.
“The money raised this year will be used to commence our phase two renovation at the CCH pediatric ward as well as our other local initiatives and on-going international projects,” said Gillian Oxley-Harper, vice chair of Rachel’s Kids.
“The day was a huge success thanks to all of our supporters and all of our volunteers that worked so hard to plan the day and ensure that everything went smoothly.” said Navaneelan.
