The 124th edition of the Maxville Fair was held last weekend, with a variety of activities and events on the roster, for all ages and interests.

Friday’s events included the opening of the Exhibition Hall, a food demonstration by Knox Fine Dining, a talent show and entertainment by The Shiners.

An antique machinery display, an English horse and pony show as well as the Holstein 4-H Show opened up Saturday’s event. Also on the agenda were a three-pitch tournament, classic car display and afternoon entertainment by Graham Greer.

The wood pellet grill BBQ event challenged participants to prepare an entire three course meal - appetizer, entrée and dessert - all by using a barbecue.

Saturday evening’s events included championship wrestling followed by a patio party at the Metcalfe Centre.

On the schedule for the final day of the fair was a western horse show, baby show and entertainment by Simon Cole.

With the successful 2012 Maxville Fair now history, the community prepares for an even bigger even, The Highland Games, coming up August 3rd and 4th.
