Rothwell-Osnabruck’s grades 6, 7 and 8 students participated in a final wrap up event to mark the end of the school year.
Rothwell-Osnabruck’s grades 7 and 8 have been partners with Caveman Strong for over a year. The grade 6 students were included in the event as an intro to next year’s school program while the Grade 8s had their final sendoff.
It was all hosted by teacher Andree Markell and Caveman Strong Owner Tyler Touchette.
The event included six circuits challenging the students in a variety of different movements.
Students had the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor workout proving that exercise does not have to be limited to a gym.
“I wanted to show students that working out can be done anywhere, anytime,” said Markell. “Tyler and I worked together in order to create great stations that the students would be challenged but at the same time would be pushed physically all while having a blast with their cohort.”
The event was followed by a first-ever Farm-to-School lunch. All food served was organic and locally grown. Some local farmers and local businesses donated food while others offered sponsorships.
“I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our community,” said Markell.
