Better batten down the hatches - we could get a tornado this afternoon.

Environment Canada issued a tornado warning at 1:50 p.m., which was later downgraded to a watch.

In a statement, Evironment Canada said: "a Canwarn spotter reported rotation in a storm just east of Cornwall. The storm is moving eastward at 60 km/h. Severe thunderstorms likely producing tornadoes are imminent or occurring in the area. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall may also accompany these storms. Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches."
