UPDATE: Two killed, one injured after vehicle slams into tree

The weekend turned deadly in North Glengarry after a single-vehicle accident near Alexandria claimed two lives and left another person in hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 2006 Cadillac left McCormick Road in North Glengarry around 1 a.m. Sunday, entered a ditch and slammed into a tree.

Police say 21-year-old Colin Joseph Geddis and 26-year-old Jasmine Morris, both from Alexandria, died. 

The driver, 25-year-old Kevin Menard from South Glengarry, remains at Ottawa Civic Hospital with serious injuries.

Menard faces two counts of dangerous driving.
