Children in care at the Cornwall Community Hospital have a new little friend to help them convalesce.
Rachel's Kids, a local organization that raises funds to help young people both here and abroad, has donated dozens of "Feel Better" Bears to the pediatric wing at the hospital.
The cuddly little guys are as soft as a pillow and, the hope is, will help young ones take their minds of their medical issues while at the hospital. Each patient admitted to the pediatric ward will receive a bear.
The bears are also being sold for $20 to raise funds for Rachel's Kids, headed by local dentist, Rachel Navaneelan.
The bear project is in addition to upgrades and a new look being created at the pediatric ward of the hospital.
Those looking to help in the fundraising drive can purchase tickets for the third annual Rachel's Kids Raffle. The tickets ($20 each and three for $50) go on sale next week. A avriety of prizes including cash and travel vouchers, are available.
