Some 6,000 marijuana plants have been seized by police as part of their annual efforts to destroy the local drug crop.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as other law enforcement agencies and the Department of National Defence, collaborated on the eradication project known as Operation SABOT.
Plants from SD and G as well as Prescott-Russell were found by police, in many cases still in the ground, and were destroyed and taken away.
The objective of the operation is to locate outdoor marijuana grow operations with the use of aerial patrols, while police on the ground work to seize the crops prior to harvesting.
Police said the sale of marijuana helps finance other organized crime activity.
