Some familiar faces are returning to leadership roles with a pair of eastern Ontario school boards.

Greg Pietersma, a Dundas-area trustee, will once again helm proceedings for the Upper Canada District School Board. Pietersma has been chair of the board for four consecutive terms.

"There is much to be done including holding the ministry accountable for solving the current labour unrest, completing the accountability framework and moving to our 90 oer cent graduation rate,” Pietersma said following the decision.

Over on the separate side of the ledger Cornwall-area trustee Todd Lalonde was acclaimed as vice-chair of the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario for a second consecutive term.

"We are the shining light of Ontario, and that is a result of the quality of the people in this board," said Lalonde. "I look forward to a second term as vice-chair, and the opportunity to further the growth of our education system.”
