New college CEO appointed

After an extensive national search, the board of governors of St. Lawrence College announced Wednesday Glenn Vollebregt, currently senior vice-president of finance and administration, has been appointed the college's new president. 

“The board of governors is excited that Glenn will bring his visionary leadership, sound judgment and dedication to lifelong learning to his new role as president and CEO,” said Paul Fitzpatrick, chair of St. Lawrence College board of governors. “Glenn’s extensive experience in all areas of the college, his creativity and leadership will ensure that the college continues to meet the learning needs of students and our communities.”

During Vollebregt's tenure, St. Lawrence College has experienced strong enrollment growth, with the student population nearly doubling in the last decade. The college has also consistently ranked among the top three colleges in Ontario for graduate employment and employer satisfaction.

 “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead this great academic institution and continue to work with the hundreds of dedicated staff at the College,” said Vollebregt. “I am excited about the future of St. Lawrence College and look forward to continuing to provide leadership, focusing on student success and academic excellence.”

The search for a new president and CEO began in the summer of 2012.
