Christmas trees to be collected next week

The city is reminding homeowners that a special Christmas tree collection will take place during the week of Jan. 7.

Residents are asked to place their discarded Christmas tree at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on their regular collection day.

The Christmas trees will be collected by a separate truck for chipping and recycling.

In 2011, the city collected over 10 tonnes of Christmas trees for composting at the city landfill.
