City administrators are recommending Cornwall dip into the Progress Fund to help send the hospital's fundraising campaign over the top.

At Monday's city council meeting, a report from administration will be examined which details how interest from the $25-million fund could be used to help the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation's To Your Health! campaign complete its fundraising goal.

But there could be some dissention among a few city councillors.

Behind the scenes there has been some grumbling among a few councillors, who have suggested the hospital has already received millions of dollars from the city over the last 10 or so years - and council is headed into a difficult budget deliberation to kick off 2013.

The hospital it seeking $500,000 from the city to push the To Your Health! campaign past its $3.5-million goal. If approved the city would pay the money out in equal installments over three years.

The campaign has been raising funds for an MRI and digital urology table for the newly-renovated Cornwall Community Hospital.
