Seaway News and TC Media are pleased to roll out a new feature today that allows you to tell us all the neat, funny or unique features about Cornwall that makes you smile.
We're calling it "The Best of Cornwall" and it's more than just ranking some of the best places to eat a hamburger or catch a show - it's about you and what you enjoy in our great city.
"The Best of Cornwall" features a series of topics where our readers can offer their opinion on subject matter that is as varied as it is interesting.
"What is the best corner in the city to people watch?" Seaway News editor Todd Lihou asked. "Some people might suggest Pitt and Second streets, or perhaps Cumberland and Ninth. The beauty is it could be the corner at the end of your block. We want you to tell us why."
The subjects cover a variety of topics, said Lihou.
"The best hamburger in town? Before you start telling us about a local restaurant, why not spin the story of the backyard barbecue at your neighbour's place where the beef was piled high and the drinks were ice cold?" he said.
"We want to keep it light. What is the best e-mail you ever sent? Your favourite Tweet or Facebook page? How about the most nefarious Cornwallite? And my personal favourite: Best rumour of an Elvis sighting in Cornwall."
We call it the "Best of Cornwall" because it's a collection of stories that make us unique and set our city apart from every other community in not only Ontario, but Canada and the world.
You can download the "Best of Cornwall" questions from our website and fill in your answers. A full listing of the questions is also included in the newspaper, on Page 6.
You can drop off your answers at our office at 29 Second Street East, or send them via e-mail to editorial@cornwallseawaynews.com.
We're willing to compensate you for your time. Eight lucky submissions will be presented with one $25 gift card each to a local restaurant.
We look forward to hearing from you and taking part in this exciting project.
