It's arguably one of the most popular - and tastiest - fundraisers to usher in spring.

The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall will host its seventh annual pizza party for charity at the Best Western in Cornwall on March 22. The charity event raised $14,000 for local agencies in 2012 and event chair Dan Carbonnell is expecting more of the same this year.

"We've raised about $75,000 over the last six years," he said. "We're on target to hit $90,000 now."

Seven local pizza operations have already signed up to vye for top honours this year, including the Fifth Wheel, Louis', 2 for 1, Pizza Pizza, Bobby's Place, Milano's and Famous Pizza.

"It's a huge event," said Carbonnell. "It's Cornwall's first and best pizza party."

Pizza is judged on a variety of criteria, including crust, taste, etc.

Carbonnell said the event has become so popular that it is already sold out, and a waiitng list for tickets is available at the Cornwall Scotiabank branch.

For more information about getting on the wait list, visit the bank branch at 960 Brookdale Avenue.
