CORNWALL, Ontario - The political football that has become the debate surrounding funding a feasibility study for a Cornwall university has been punted again.
This time the question of spending $50,000 of taxpayer money on the study will go back to city council – the same place it was Monday night when councillors voted to send it to the budget committee for debate.
Those same councillors who make up the budget committee decided a decision from city council-proper would be warranted and reserved approving the spending.
To be fair, at a Monday council meeting councillors didn’t want to authorize any 2013 spending because the budget had not yet been approved by the budget committee.
Now that it has, it's expected the funding question will be answered at a city council session at the end of March.
It's also expected for council to approve the request.
