CORNWALL, Ontario - The maple sap is running - which also means the 2013 Cabane à sucre will start Cornwall Friday.
The annual celebration of Francophone heritage runs through the enture weekend and will feature events during the day for children, and a getogether in the evening for adults.
Parents and grandparents will celebrate Friday evening to the sound of the Group Pourquoi Pas. On Saturday everyone will share a laugh with the Group Top Secret.
"We are inviting everyone to come to the Cabane à sucre to celebrate the arrival of spring and to get a taste of the maple sap all day," the organizing committee said in a release. "You can get a fantastic French-Canadian meal for $7 on Friday and Saturday. The Saturday breakfast will be only $5 but with real maple syrup. Children under 5 years old will always eat free of charge."
Most of the Cabane a sucre events will be taking place in and around the Army, Navy Club on Marlborough Street in Cornwall.
