CORNWALL, Ontario - Cornwall area employers expect a favourable hiring climate for the second quarter of 2013, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

The survey, released Tuesday, suggests nearly a quarter of employers plan to add staff between April and June.

Another 77 per cent of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels.

“With seasonal variations removed from the data, Cornwall’s second quarter Net Employment Outlook of 15 per cent shows a slight increase when compared to the previous quarterly outlook of 11 per cent,” said Virginia Stenner of Manpower’s Cornwall office. “It is also a four percentage point increase from the outlook reported during the same time last year indicating a upbeat hiring pace for the upcoming months.”
