North Dundas man charged in sexual abuse case

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – An alleged sex offender from North Dundas is facing charges of child pornography and child sexual abuse as a result of a two-week investigation.

36-year-old Daniel Robert Adams, of North Dundas Township, has been charged for allegedly having inappropriate sexual conduct with a 14-year-old child, along with a string of other related charges.

On Aug. 14, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Technological Crime Unit and the S,D&G OPP unit executed a search warrant at Adams’ residence where they seized 17 computers, related computer equipment, audio/video recording equipment and a quantity of marijuana.

Adams is charged with one count of invitation to sexual touching, two counts of possession of child pornography, one count of making sexually explicit material available to a child, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.  The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.  The accused will appear for a remand hearing on Aug. 19 in a Cornwall courthouse.
