CORNWALL, Ontario - Employees at a west-end chemical company have the day off after a small explosion reportedly blew the lid off a container.
Workers who showed up at BASF in Cornwall's Riverdale neighbourhood were told to go home for the day Tuesday after the early morning incident.
Parts of Wallrich Avenue and Seventh Street West were closed to traffic while an investigation ensued.
No one was harmed in the incident, which is still under investigation.
BASF manufactures chemicals for the plastics industry and employs more than two dozen people.
