CORNWALL, Ontario - A jilted cab driver resulted in a Cornwall man being charged.
A Cornwall cab that got stiffed for payment resulted in a local man being charged for transportation fraud and three breaches.
According to police, 28-year-old Paul Grant took a cab from his residence to a Pitt St. address and then to the local hospital. When they arrived at the final destination, Grant allegedly had no money to pay the cabbie.
On Sept. 3, police were contacted and the alleged "free rider" was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with a court date.
Const. Dan Cloutier said Grant "didn't need immediate medical attention" at the time of arrest.
The accused has been charged with transportation fraud and three separate releases for failing to keep the peace.
