CORNWALL, Ontario – If you receive a text message to lift restrictions on your cell phone account, press ignore, police are warning.
Police have reported that local residents are being messaged with a possible scam via text messages, asking them to visit a website to have restrictions removed from their accounts.
The Cornwall Community Police Service is reporting that residents are receiving a text message urging them to visit a website and make changes to personal accounts.
Police said the texts are a possible scam and started in the early morning of Oct. 9.
