CORNWALL, Ontario - The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry County Library wants you to celebrate Ontario Public Library Week from Oct. 20-26.
Ontario Public Library Week is an annual event that raises public awareness of the valuable role that libraries play in the lives of all Ontarians. A part of Canadian Library Month, this year’s theme is ‘Libraries Connect’.
“Libraries provide a place for individuals and groups to connect. Libraries connect people with each other and with resources, including eBooks, print books, movies, Internet access, technology training, and programs to help them find what they need,” said Erika Heesen, Communications and Marketing Librarian.
To celebrate Ontario Public Library Week, the SD&G County Library is asking the public to describe how they connect to the library.
“Send us a Facebook message or a tweet during Public Library Week telling us how you connect to the Library, and we will give you a $2 “Get Out of Fines Free” card”, said Heesen. “These stories will help us to improve our services and will be used to promote the Library’s connections to the community”.
The SD&G County Library will also be hosting events, programs, and displays at all locations during Ontario Public Library Week. For information on programs at your local branch, please go to www.sdglibrary.ca.
